Food Has a Frequency: What a Fourth Generation Intuitive Learned in a Food Science Lab

Most nutrition advice stops at the label. Calories, macros, grams of protein. Useful information, and incomplete. It describes what a food is made of without ever asking what a food is doing.

Lainie Sevante Wulkan spent her twenties in a university food science program learning metabolic chemistry, and the rest of her life learning the other half. She is a fourth generation intuitive. Her great grandmother was the town psychic in a Russian village. What she built from those two inheritances is a system that treats food as information, and it now runs in 45 countries.

The Childhood Obsession That Became A Career

Before there was a method, there was a fixation. Wulkan grew up anxious about food in a way nobody in her family could explain. Expiration dates. Mold. Preservatives. The worry had no visible source and it did not go away.

It sent her to university to study food science, because she needed the why of it. The chemistry. The metabolism. What actually happens when the body meets a molecule. And then, at eight years old, an offhand line in a reading her mother was getting gave the obsession a shape.

“My mother was getting a reading when I was eight years old. The reader looked at her and said your daughter died of food poisoning in a past life, and it would not be a surprise if she studied that.”
— Lainie Sevante Wulkan

Four Bodies, Not One

The premise underneath everything else is that a person is not only a physical system. Wulkan works from a model of four bodies: emotional, mental, physical, spiritual. Nourish one and neglect three, and the arithmetic does not work.

Dr. Yi Song, who comes at this from dual doctorates in Pathology and Oriental Medicine, pushes on the same distinction from the other direction.

“The physical is only our physical body, and our physical body has a limited time on earth. However, the spiritual heart can live on after the physical.”
— Dr. Yi Song

Words On Water, And Then On Food

Three researchers gave Wulkan the bridge she needed. Masaru Emoto photographed water crystals after exposing them to written words, and reported different structures for love than for hate. Bruce Lipton made the case that belief reaches the cell. David Hawkins assigned numeric values to emotional states, low for shame and rage, high for joy and peace, arranged in the order of the visible spectrum.

She took the obvious next step. Water is most of what food is.

“If he can put a word on water, and water is mostly the composition of food, what if I took a word and put it on food?”
— Lainie Sevante Wulkan

Why The Artichoke Means Forgiveness

The Food Healing Oracle Deck assigns one word to each food. The artichoke got forgiveness, and the reasoning runs on two tracks at once.

The metaphor first. An artichoke is layers of thorny leaves wrapped around a heart. That is also a fair description of a person who is not ready to forgive. Then the chemistry: Wulkan cites the artichoke as the highest pH food she works with, which puts it at the alkaline end of the same scale where Hawkins put peace and joy, and the opposite end from the acidic states of anger and shame.

“If you can peel back the layers of what is causing your resistance to forgiving, then the heart can shine and the heart gets exposed.”
— Lainie Sevante Wulkan

The Foods That Look Like The Organs They Serve

Cilantro is the confusion card. People love it or it tastes like soap to them, which is confusion enough, and cilantro also chelates heavy metals, which produce brain fog. Blueberry is clarity: good for the eyes, an antioxidant, an air element food for the mental state. Red bell pepper mirrors the chambers of a heart. Red kidney beans became the alignment card.

Walnut is the analyze card, and Dr. Song recognized the logic before Wulkan named it.

“In traditional Chinese medicine, if you look at the shape of a walnut, it looks like a brain.”
— Dr. Yi Song

When The Card Matches The Diagnosis

Wulkan does not claim a mechanism. She reports outcomes and lets them sit. A woman at a festival told her she had heart disease before the cards came out, then drew red bell pepper from a face-down spread of 124. Another woman with adrenal fatigue drew asparagus, and that same day a well-known medical intuitive published a newsletter on asparagus for adrenal support.

Muscle testing gets used alongside the deck as a second check.

“Out of 124 foods, she pulls the red bell pepper card. You do not know how to explain it, but there is an inherent something working, and it has worked over and over with thousands of people across the world.”
— Lainie Sevante Wulkan

The Turn Back Toward The Lab

The interesting move in Wulkan’s recent work is the direction of travel. Having spent seven years building a system out of intuition and metaphor, she has spent the last two pulling it back toward measurable biology.

Every course now carries a nutrition intensive. Cilantro comes with a discussion of heavy metals. She runs DNA advisories. Students get both halves rather than choosing one.

“The last couple of years I have been focused more on genetics, studying DNA and blood type and how those relate to your food cravings, tying a lot more science into the spiritual practices.”
— Lainie Sevante Wulkan

Hope From The Himalayas

The documentary she is filming has almost nothing to do with oracle cards. A colleague in Kathmandu runs a family Ayurvedic herbal infusion company that has been formulating for generations, cultivating herbs at the base of the Himalayas. The villages that grow those herbs are poor, and poverty there has a specific consequence.

“When there is not enough money for the family, they are sending the girls off to the cities, and a lot of them end up being trafficked. He is trying to stop that whole cycle.”
— Lainie Sevante Wulkan

Where The Work Goes Next

Three retreats a year. The Food Oracle’s Longevity Retreat in Florida, built around the blue zones. Sicily in June, on a seventeenth century farmhouse with thirty acres of farm to table land. Nepal in the autumn, the first time she has taken a group there, with temple visits, Tibetan sound healing, and a sunrise flight around Everest.

Two decks are published, a third is being written, and a seven book series called Feeding Your Chakras is in progress. Everything sits at CIFTofficial.com. Dr. Song closed the conversation on the thread that ran through all of it.

“Our time on the earth is limited, but our soul will live on. So we need to make our soul a meaningful time, and also to pass it on to the next generation.”

0:00 INTUITIVE NUTRITION AND FOOD HEALING OVERVIEW

Lainie Sevante Wulkan: And she looks down at her and says your daughter died of food poisoning in a past life. There is an inherent something working and has worked over and over with people, thousands of people across the world. What if food had more meaning than we believe it to be?

Dr. Yi Song: Hi, welcome to another episode of Regeneration Effect. We are talking about ancient practices merging with modern technology and also spiritual healing, intuitive healing. So we’re so happy to have Lainie today here to talk about intuitive nutrition and also other intuitive healing she’s been involved with.

Lainie Sevante Wulkan: Thank you for having me here. This is a real pleasure.

Dr. Yi Song: So, tell us a little bit about your intuitive nutrition institute and then how you were coming about to bring it all forward.

1:01 HOW A FOOD SCIENTIST BECAME THE FOOD ORACLE

Lainie Sevante Wulkan: Well, I’m now known as the food oracle worldwide and the story really kind of goes back to my early childhood background. And I think I grew up in a very holistic household, a very intuitive. I am a fourth generation intuitive. And so my great grandmother was the town psychic in Russia and was the go-to for healing and for getting a sense of things. And so I think the gift came through the family. But it wasn’t until I was a little bit probably in my teens or earlier than that, that there was a connection that I have been working in the realm of food and interest. And pretty much I grew up in having this sort of hyperphobia and hypochondria around food.

I was always worried about the expiration dates, if there was going to be mold, if there was preservatives. And there was no real reason for this kind of obsession. But as would happen, I would end up going to university and studying food science. I needed to know the why of food, the metabolic, the food chemistry. And that was pretty unique for me because I was literally very spiritual and I had tarot cards and oracle cards growing up. I was very esoteric.

2:33 THE PAST LIFE READING ABOUT FOOD POISONING

Lainie Sevante Wulkan: My mother was getting a reading and I was eight years old and she looks down at her and says your daughter died of food poisoning in a past life and it wouldn’t be a surprise if she studied that. And it kind of made the connection of this obsession around food science and what was going on around food. So when I got into college, it was pretty brilliant that I was starting to blend the whys of the real world of food and understanding how the body works with health and wellness. In any ways, I continued my studies of that. And just say 30, 40 years later, I continued my understanding of wanting to know how the body works. And I was working in more of the meditation space producing albums.

And I started to see that there was an opportunity to share some of my meditations and my teachings. And at that time I was taking advanced food healing training and I was understanding that I could express some of these ideas in a way that would come forward about what if food had more meaning than we believe it to be, meaning food is generally seen as something we fuel the body with. Of course we enjoy it. But I went on a journey, and now it’s been about seven years, to kind of bridge some of these understandings, what made me the food oracle. Essentially, I had this idea to take my teachings, which was learning about spirituality, learning about food, learning about food science, and kind of roll it into a platform.

And I created something called the food healing oracle deck. And kind of the rest is history. And then I kind of come back it up where how that fell into place and some of the teachers who’ve been inspirations along the way because our bodies made of four bodies to me, emotional, mental, physical and spiritual. And we need to nourish all of them in order to create health and wellness. I know of course the physical is important, but along the way, those other aspects play a big role into it, don’t you think?

Dr. Yi Song: Yes, because the physical is only our physical body, and our physical body has a limited time to be on earth. However, the spiritual heart can live on after the physical, right? Do you believe in that?

Lainie Sevante Wulkan: I absolutely do.

5:10 EMOTO, LIPTON AND HAWKINS FREQUENCY SCIENCE

Lainie Sevante Wulkan: And I became fascinated several years ago with Dr. Masaru Emoto, right? The biology of water who’s since passed. And if you’re familiar with his work, he was so brilliant. He would look under a microscope and he would put words on water, love, hate, and you’d see under the microscope a different crystalline structure. And you would see complete distortions in words that weren’t they were more negative, and then you would see beautiful crystal imperfection in something called love, right? And I thought, oh, that’s amazing. And I said, okay, well, if he can put a word on water, and water is mostly the composition of food, what if I took a word and put it on food?

And then that became its own energy, frequency, and vibration, and hence that’s how the Oracle cards, that’s just like one component. I thought I’m going to take artichokes. I’ll take ginseng. I will take almonds and I will go into what I known as myself as an intuitive and say, okay, source, universe, spirit, what does this mean? And so I started to assemble that thinking and then I started to look at say Dr. Bruce Lipton, who is a big epigenetics hero, right?

Dr. Yi Song: Yeah, the science of belief, science of belief.

Lainie Sevante Wulkan: Right. And so starting to talk about ourselves, having a consciousness. And I’ve loved, I can’t wait to know your thoughts on this, but going from biology to understanding that there’s more to ourselves, there’s more of an inherent, understanding that we can harmonize ourselves with our, some energetic input. I saw, Okay, well, what if we put an energetic input around the food that we’re eating and it’s creating a vibration of health in harmony in wellness and then I fell in love with Dr. David Hawkins who has a vibrational frequency scale and this scale I felt was so amazing because there was a say a number assigned to an emotion so say a lower vibration of hate or jealousy or rage or shame has these lower vibrations.

And if you look on this scale, it actually is the color of the rainbow, the colors of chakras or the color of pH. You have red and then it goes up. And if you’re seeing red and jealousy and rage, you’re at a very low vibration, acidic. And that’s what that would say, I give that number of a hundred. And then if you go up the scale, the colors get lighter. You’re at joy and love and peace, say those numbers are at 800. So if you are assigning this vibratory scale to these words, then I’m going to assign those when I’m contemplating what words are assigned to these foods. And I really took my own intuitive guidance, these doctors’ beautiful research and started to kind of formulate a process called intuitive food therapy.

8:26 BUILDING THE FOOD HEALING ORACLE DECK

Lainie Sevante Wulkan: And it was born, it could have been born first as a book, but it ended up being born into this Oracle card set, which people, that came out, that was written in 2019 and came out in 2020.

Dr. Yi Song: So this is the card you’re talking about, right?

Lainie Sevante Wulkan: Yeah.

Dr. Yi Song: So where do people can get it?

Lainie Sevante Wulkan: Well, you can get it at all over the world now, but on the website, which is the, oh, it’s CIFT, CIFT official, which now stands for the Center for Intuitive Food Therapy.

9:00 FOUR GENERATIONS OF INTUITIVES FROM RUSSIA

Dr. Yi Song: And then you said your family is like a four generations of intuitive healer. So do you mean like your great grandfather were doing intuitive healing as well?

Lainie Sevante Wulkan: My great grandmother, yeah. She was doing intuitive healing in Russia. My grandmother, still not so much my mom since past. And my mom would just say that she was extremely intuitive and was very, didn’t do it so much as a practice. My mom helped animals. Her gift came through animals. And I believe my gift is through people and being not so much medical intuitive, but being intuitive enough through food to help people understand that food not only is related to what I just shared, but there’s a connection to nature’s five elements and how to eat according to earth, air, fire, water, and spirit, and sacred geometry, as well as the chakra system.

So it’s a very complex system, our body. And I’ve looked at the parts that speak to me that I believe that food has. And if you hand me that, I would love to just give you an example of how it works.

Dr. Yi Song: So when did your family immigrate from Russia to US?

Lainie Sevante Wulkan: Oh, it’s, yeah, many, many decades ago. So my great-grandmother came actually during the pogroms. And moved to Chicago. And then my family was primarily raised in Chicago and then my mother moved to California and I was raised there. She was sort of the rebel of the family and branched out. But she had always been very, I remember just growing up, she, those are sort of part of those hippie days of California and she hung out at metaphysical stores and I was very young and just sort of took it all in. But I do remember that some food was always a central key part of it. And then I ended up during university and later getting a very high profile job.

11:08 FOOD SCIENCE IN THE NINETIES, TOFU AND KONNYAKU

Lainie Sevante Wulkan: I worked for a very famous vegetarian vegan chef in Hollywood. She was sort of the Hollywood chef.

Dr. Yi Song: So we were back in the 90s.

Lainie Sevante Wulkan: Yeah, probably that’s, we’re in the early 90s.

Dr. Yi Song: So that was very new for vegan back then. Not a lot of people were knowing about vegan back in 1990.

Lainie Sevante Wulkan: It’s funny that you would touch on that because I remember back in college, so we’re talking 1990, my big project was how to replace an ingredient in a food to substitute.

Dr. Yi Song: Substitute the meat?

Lainie Sevante Wulkan: Substitute, this was actually, it was substituting dairy. And at the time, I made a tofu mousse pie. And I thought that that was, they thought that was so innovative. I replaced dairy, eggs and cream and milk, and I would use tofu in its replacement. And I made a tofu mousse pie. Now you just think all those decades later, that means nothing. But back then, to replace something that was so standard with something that was not very popular, that was amazing. And I remember my food science professor, she had just come back from Japan and she brought konnyaku, which no one had heard of konnyaku at that time.

Dr. Yi Song: Even you tell people now, konnyaku, a lot of people don’t know what it is.

Lainie Sevante Wulkan: No, you’re absolutely right. But at the time, she was a food scientist and the Marilyn Magaram Center at Cal State Northridge in California, we were innovators in food science. So I was part of that program. And I think those were sort of like the years. And that used to be what now you see.

Dr. Yi Song: In fact, I think there’s some noodles out there that are primarily now it’s

Lainie Sevante Wulkan: Standard, but back then I felt we were, I look back with gratitude because I felt like I was part of this cutting-edge generation that was really making a difference in bringing forward foods that can definitely be healthier for you, especially for the vegan movement.

13:19 VEGAN FOR DECADES, THEN GUIDED TO PROTEIN

Dr. Yi Song: So have you been a vegan yourself?

Lainie Sevante Wulkan: I was a vegan for many decades and until I wasn’t. And as an intuitive, I just got clear that that was not in alignment for my body and made the shifts. And then I’ve kind of dabbled and I’ve been pescatarian, I’ve been keto. I think I’ve tried several different things to indicate that the body needs balance and that we really need to just trust our gut intuitively.

Dr. Yi Song: I think for some people, maybe vegan is a good choice. I don’t know. For me, I was never strictly vegan or vegetarian, but between 2000 to 2014, I was eating mostly vegetable. Occasionally I would eat meat and I would eat eggs and dairy, but I don’t consume that a lot. So then by 2014, actually I tested, I was really anemic. And I didn’t know what was the reason, but even now we don’t know why I got so anemic. But of course, ever since then, I started eating more meat. And now it’s not like I’m not on carnival diet or any of those. I’m not on particular on keto diet or anything particular. That’s why I think anything moderation is good. And then if you are isolating to only eat certain type of food and not other food, then sometimes I think you can get into trouble.

But then you have to recognize the bodies, each person’s unique body type to see what is right. So is that what your tarot card is?

Lainie Sevante Wulkan: Yeah, yeah. Oracle cards. But I know people say tarot all the time. Very similar. I’m just was grabbing a card that spoke to me as you were talking. Yeah, it’s funny, the last year I’ve been very knee deep into sort of strength training and really looking at longevity from a point of building muscle mass and looking at what it takes to support that. This just sort of been the last year has been like that health journey. And it’s great because I’m at a gym where there’s older women and men, and it’s great to see that as someone who studies and teaches longevity, that people are really taking to heart the physical. In addition, it’s the all four bodies.

And so as a result, I do have a health coach and she was so glad that now I am eating more protein because you really need more protein. Yes, there’s incomplete proteins and vegetables, but I do believe that for myself, as soon as I upped my protein, I was stronger and I was gaining the muscle that I needed and losing the fat that I wanted to release. And I’ve seen some significant shifts in me. So, and I do like to track what I eat. And so yeah, it’s very different. People ask me all the time, why is there no meat in any of your decks or your teachings? And I just feel that no matter what journey you go on, you do need your vegetables, your herbs, your nuts, your spices, you may not need nuts, but a good source of protein.

But I think that I’ve just kept it vegan. The first deck was vegan or plant-based and they’ve just continued to be on that way and now I’m working on the third one.

Dr. Yi Song: So how do people use this deck?

Lainie Sevante Wulkan: Yeah, so I’m just looking for a card here and I’m just gonna give it to you because that’s what we’ll start with, artichoke.

Dr. Yi Song: I like artichoke.

Lainie Sevante Wulkan: Do you?

Dr. Yi Song: Yes.

Lainie Sevante Wulkan: And yeah, maybe we’ll pull a card for you.

Dr. Yi Song: I actually like all kinds of food. I’m never like some people are very picky at what food they eat. They don’t eat this, you don’t eat that, I won’t eat this. I’m never like that. Even when I was a child, I ate everything.

17:12 ARTICHOKE, THE FORGIVENESS CARD EXPLAINED

Lainie Sevante Wulkan: So if you look at the artichoke, that was one of my first cards. And I really spent a lot of time in meditation. Like I said, I’ve grown up as an intuitive. I had an oracle card or a tarot card in my hand well before. Like all my neighbors played with playing cards, go fish. I was always like, hey, let me show you what the chariot is. Like I was very much into sort of these woo-woo cards. But when I sat and thought about, okay, well, let’s create these concepts of these food constructs around food healing into cards. And the first, what would be my first five cards that came to me. So if you look at the artichoke, what do you think of first off when you see that picture of an artichoke or you think of an artichoke in general? And then I’ll give you mine.

Dr. Yi Song: Where do you get this picture? Because if we go to a supermarket to buy artichoke, it’s usually greenish, it’s not purple.

Lainie Sevante Wulkan: Yeah, that’s true. Well, it depends on where you get them. Isn’t that a pretty one though?

Dr. Yi Song: See, I actually have been to California a lot where they grow artichoke, right? Like in Salina area.

Lainie Sevante Wulkan: Oh, yeah.

Dr. Yi Song: Right. So when you even go to artichoke farm you don’t see this type of purple-ish.

Lainie Sevante Wulkan: They’re not always that way. Well I took a long time to curate these. Well just like sometimes you see colored asparagus but these are and we were talking off air about glutathione and the whole time you were saying glutathione I’m like just eat more asparagus. But what I found fascinating about the artichoke and just to tie it in is how you asked me how to use the deck. The artichoke has the word forgiveness on it. And so why would forgiveness be that? Well, first off, when you think about an artichoke, the artichoke has several layers of thorny leaves, and in a way they’re protecting the heart. And so sometimes when we are upset, and we are mad, and we’re not in a forgiving state of mind, we tend to kind of put up our walls, and we have some maybe some sharp edges, because we’re not willing to forgive.

And that card is saying, listen, if you come to a state of forgiveness, someone asks me a question and they get the forgiveness card, they need to look, is it something they need to forgive themselves? Do they need to forgive somebody else? But if you look at it from a metaphoric standpoint of view, if you can peel back the layers of what’s causing you to have resistance around not forgiving, then the heart can shine and then the heart gets exposed.

I actually coach people all the time, time to eat some, time to eat an artichoke and really take that quiet ceremonial moment to like peel back of like, where are we that we can’t forgive? What parts of us are still in resistance? And there’s something to be said about that. Now on the physical side, if you think about when we’re in, if you go back to that energetic scale that I was saying about David Hawkins, and we’re in the acidic anger, the lower numbers, it turns out that artichokes have the highest pH of food, 13.99. So imagine if we come into forgiveness, we raise that frequency up out of acidic into alkaline as we’re eating it. So there’s an emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual shift. And that is how the cards are sort of derived using the system, if you will, of healing our body through food.

21:00 HOW READINGS WORK AND WHAT COMES WITH THE DECK

Dr. Yi Song: Okay. So then when somebody gets your Oracle card box, then they pick artichoke. Who’s going to explain all these things to them?

Lainie Sevante Wulkan: Oh, that’s a great question. Well, there’s layers to that. First off, all the cards come with a book and everything’s explained inside. And so we made it that everyone should be self-paced. They don’t need a reader, although we have several. In fact, that’s what the Center for Intuitive Food Therapy does. We train people who want to go deeper into understanding because what is going on as that picture, I just explained it as the creator, but that also is telling me I see some crown chakra work there because you see some of the purple and the actually artichokes look like a crown. So we can take it wherever you want. But yes, the book comes with it. There’s always a spiritual message. We call it the healing wisdom and a practical gift.

Dr. Yi Song: So which book comes with it?

Lainie Sevante Wulkan: Yeah, every one of these cards comes with the book. And in here, you would have a message to what that food means. And then you would have something practical about what that food is. And so a lot of times someone can be dealing with depression and they’re getting a food that we start talking about sunlight or foods that can raise your emotional content with joy and vibration. So there’s a lot of things in there. I always make sure there’s a practical side to it. And I always say don’t avoid that because there’s sometimes, if there’s a B vitamin missing, not saying B vitamins are mostly in proteins, but if there’s an ingredient in there that they’re missing, most likely that’s the food.

And I think our bodies are, trust your gut is that our bodies know what we need. I think our bodies are helping us, our soul, our little voice, our cravings. When we go to the grocery store or the farmer’s market, wherever we’re going to purchase, and we’re like, I really need to have Brussels sprouts tonight, or blueberries. Most people who are now in this space, they’ll look up and say, I wonder what’s going on and why that food is calling my name. Or on the flip side, if they know the system of understanding why these foods are showing up, they could say like what, I really need to get more clarity on this situation. And in our deck, the clarity card is blueberry for many reasons.

One, blueberries are for the eyes, the physical clarity, but also an antioxidant, right? Just trying to kind of bring that ability to kind of crush some of the free radicals in your body. And so we’re getting clear there. And then we’re getting the clarity of just blueberries is also an air element. It’s more of the mental state, we’re getting clear. And most of the dark color foods are for brain health and for eye health. And so I do kind of circle the entire wagon of physical. So it’s not just metaphoric, it’s not people are like, oh, why did you come up with it? There’s reasons. And so all these things kind of combine into that. And if you go back to Dr. Emoto, if you’re saying, I’m eating blueberries and I’m going to be getting clarity, you’re creating that frequency of intention.

Dr. Yi Song: So then do you mean, when people use the Oracle cards, they just pick whatever they like and then read about it and then read about it in the book, then they can decide, okay, so it seems to me that I’m a little bit angry the past few weeks because of whatever reasons, then maybe I should eat more artichoke because it can raise the pH.

Lainie Sevante Wulkan: You could, yes, yes, that’s absolutely true. And then we provide you a landscape, we call them spreads or a layout or a formula. So you can ask questions that come to you. You could say, you could pull one card, you can pull eight cards, and we give you different ways to what do I need to do to create more abundance in my life? What should I make a move to Trinidad or Alaska? We call that the baked or steamed. We provide the opportunity. I feel that all this intuition is really just a mirror of what’s going on inside. And these help you see that reflection.

Dr. Yi Song: So for people to see that, do they need to have a call with you or a course or? How do they do that?

25:47 COURSES, CERTIFICATION AND ADDING DNA SCIENCE

Lainie Sevante Wulkan: Yeah, so we thank you for that. So people, the cards now are in 45 countries. So decks are available and we now have two volumes and I’m working on a third one. I was surprised after 60 foods that people would say, we want more foods, but chefs started to call and say, we’re creating intentional meals based on your deck and your words. We love this idea. We want more food. So in 2020, right when COVID was hitting, the first deck came out and then in 2022, a second deck, so 60 more foods. So now we have about 124 foods interpreted, if you will. And so people are kind of self-paced, but we now at the Center for Intuitive Food Therapy offer multiple courses that they can learn about the deck.

We can learn about elements in the deck. And this year, or most likely next year, I’ll be coming out with a new seven series book called Feeding Your Chakras, where we’ll get very specific on how foods feed the chakras and help to energize that system. And then for those who want to go deeper, we have a food therapy, intuitive food therapy certification program. And now we have hundreds of people who are doing that. And now I have trainers who teach the different levels. And I teach the level two. And I call it going from being a reader to a healer. And that’s where we, you’ve mastered, you’ve spent a lot of time with these teachings and now it’s time to kind of provide you some case studies like Dr. Yi comes into the room and this is what’s going on with her. How would you solve, resolve, support her with the food healing oracle deck teachings and so that really takes it to the next level and it is now a modality in intuitive food therapy.

Dr. Yi Song: So how long do people need to take the course to study this?

Lainie Sevante Wulkan: That is actually, it’s a 16 to 20 hours total in course and then they’ll have a series of readings they’ll have to do and then they will get closely monitored by the instructors or the trainers. And we have a very, very tight-knit community that we do lots of support because you’re paving a new way and not this isn’t something that’s really, you see a lot of. You see a lot of Oracle decks, you see a lot of food coaching, food healing, dietitian. And so this is kind of carving a very unique niche that has now been, now we’re going on seven years in lots of countries. And so I do believe that this sort of instruction of internal intuitive wisdom is something that we all have.

Now we’re just providing a roadmap to access it. So we will be teaching, eventually we’ll have some self-paced courses online where people can take that course, but they’ll always want to get the guidance to make sure that what they’re seeing in the asparagus card what is going on with that card? Why is there a rope? Why is it standing? Why is there white behind it? There’s always a lot more like to the naked eye, it looks like a stock of asparagus. But to those who read deeper into these things, we teach you there’s a lot to be said there about asparagus.

Lainie Sevante Wulkan: Yes. And then from there, then however long it takes them to finish, we have them do 10 readings.

Dr. Yi Song: So from there, once they finish all the things, would they be certified as your intuitive?

Lainie Sevante Wulkan: Yeah, they’d be certified level one intuitive food therapist.

Dr. Yi Song: So what’s the highest level?

Lainie Sevante Wulkan: The highest level, well, we have certified trainers, but we have a level two certification. And those are people who have taken all the classes. For those who are connected, let’s say, to the archangelic realm and the angels, I co-wrote a book with Angela Aurora Medway-Smith. She’s out of London. And we wrote a book on how angels are connected to the quantum field and how they have guided us to eat certain foods during the week. It’s a very, it’s not for everybody, but it is a very important book. I think it’s sort of foreshadowing a wave of the future for some people who really see, who pray to angels and understand that foods have a color and a hue and those have a frequency and kind of goes down a very amazing path.

So I’ve written some books like that. And those who take our certifications at level two will have taken all those, tarot and they’ve taken my elements. But for those who want to go deeper into their dives into the fiscal realm, I always back up the first deck in the second deck with nutrition intensives because I’m a strong believer now and more so lately because I’ve moved, although I’m always the food Oracle, I’ve moved more into the physical science I’ve been guided to. So the last couple of years I’ve been focused more on genetics and studying DNA and how DNA and blood type and how those are related to your food cravings and sort of tying in real a lot more science into the spiritual practices.

And so now I’m in doing DNA advisories. And so with every course that they take, I am bringing in now nutrition intensives. And we go through all 60 cards in each course. And then I really get into the nutrition of them. And we get into cilantro and maybe talk about heavy metals and how that can possibly be linked to supporting autism. Like I get into now more the science. And so people can look at this as like a real blend. They’re gonna get both with our courses. They’re gonna get the spiritual, they’ll get the science and they’ll see that this is truly a blend of great teachings.

31:55 CILANTRO, WALNUT AND BODY SHAPED FOODS

Dr. Yi Song: So what does your card say about cilantro?

Lainie Sevante Wulkan: Well, let’s talk about cilantro. Why did you, what comes to your mind when you think of cilantro?

Dr. Yi Song: And it has that pungy.

Lainie Sevante Wulkan: Yeah, well, cilantro is actually our confusion card. So, and if you look at it, it looks a little tousled, just the picture in itself. And what’s very interesting about this card, because the first thing people go, oh, why does that mean confusion? Well, I think cilantro is very confusing to people because they either love it or they hate it, right? You either have that it tastes like soap or I happen to love it. And I think because I lived in New Mexico for so long and had so much New Mexican food that you could not love cilantro. But what I also find is that a lot of times when people have heavy metals in their body, cilantro is a great chelator.

And so there’s confusion when we have metals in our body, right, brain fog and a number of other things. So I thought that was the perfect word for this. And then also if you look at the green of the food itself, green is related to our heart chakra and a lot of confusion. Depending on the question that comes up, it’s like really let’s look at our heart space and our heart chakra of opening up to getting clarity versus confusion. So there’s a few things going on with this card.

Dr. Yi Song: Do you have a walnut?

Lainie Sevante Wulkan: Walnuts, we do. They’re just they’re not in this deck here.

Dr. Yi Song: But you say you have three decks right now, right?

Lainie Sevante Wulkan: We have two that are published and we have a third one I’m writing. Walnut is what can you tell me about walnut? And then I’ll tell you what the word I can only say from what I know.

Dr. Yi Song: Okay, tell me what. Traditional Chinese medicine, Chinese tradition, because one is if you look at the shape, it looks like brain.

Lainie Sevante Wulkan: Looks like brain, right? And I’m actually teaching about that tonight. So yes, walnut is our analyze card, right? That would make perfect sense. And we do talk about that and it would also be considered, with elements, it would be an air element. So anything really in the head space would be an air element food. But yeah, I think Mother Nature has been so incredible, just like with these foods, to give us the clues of where they are to support. And I’ll never forget, I have so many stories, but one story is I think about a woman who came up to me at one of these festival I was exhibiting at. And if you look at Walnut is the Brain, let’s look at Red Bell Pepper as the Chambers of a Heart. It looks like the Chamber of a Heart. And I had all, oh, I’m sorry.

Dr. Yi Song: Or if you look at the beans.

Lainie Sevante Wulkan: Beans, red kidney beans. Right, and so that’s our alignment card. Like things have to be in alignment. Or ears look like mushrooms, right? So she came up to me and I had all my cards upside down and I asked her if she’d like to pull one. She says to me, before I begin, I just want to let you know I have heart disease. So I said, okay. And then I lay out the cards and sure enough, out of 124 foods, she pulls the red bell pepper card. I just, you don’t know how to explain it, but there is an inherent something working and has worked over and over with people thousands of people across the world with these.

35:33 MUSCLE TESTING AND THE ADRENAL ASPARAGUS STORY

Dr. Yi Song: So do you ever use muscle testing in this as well?

Lainie Sevante Wulkan: We do. We do muscle testing to back up these cards. And I’ll tell you another story. Somebody had come to me, and I just knew intuitively, and I’ve written this in one of my books, that intuitively I knew she was just really blown out. She had adrenal fatigue. It was clear to me. Her adrenals were blown out, blown. And she sits down and she’s heavy-sized and she says, ah, my adrenal she immediately just says, my adrenals are so blown out. And she said, well, how can your cards help me with that? And I said, well, let me show you how they work. So I shuffled all the cards. And in my mind, the first thing I thought of was asparagus, but I’ll just say, let’s just see what she pulls.

I said, let’s just ask the deck, how can we support your adrenals right now? And she does pull the asparagus. And I kid you not, that day, I won’t, there is a very famous medical intuitive in the world issued a newsletter. And in that newsletter, that same day, talked about adrenal fatigue and how great asparagus would be. And I sent it to her and I said, this is third party verification. All you did was pull a card that had a piece of food on it from the deck, but it was indicating to you that you are getting the message how important this food would be to support your adrenal system. And it’s just amazing. I just have so many stories like that.

Dr. Yi Song: So why is asparagus for our adrenal because on this card it says transformation.

Lainie Sevante Wulkan: Right. So when we are going from and that’s great question. Well, adrenal is one part of it. But when we were talking earlier about glutathione and having the body be a great detoxifier for our liver. The great transformation is eating foods that will detoxify that liver and help that glutathione get going so we can start transforming our body into a healthier state of being. So I felt since that was such a powerhouse food in my mind for glutathione, I thought, well, that is telling we’re transforming our liver, which is transforming our body, which is transforming our health. And interestingly, bringing that up just as a little sneak peek if you are tarot readers out there, that actually is the death card in the tarot major arcana.

If I said, well, what foods relate to what major arcana is the death card? Well, we know death is a major transformation, whether it’s metaphorically or physically. So that too kind of rang true to that card. Is that gonna make you, I say you’ll never look at food the same way again. Do you now think twice about different foods?

Dr. Yi Song: So you mentioned like all your oracle cards don’t have meat in it, right? So it’s all fruit and vegetable?

Lainie Sevante Wulkan: Yeah, it’s fruits, vegetables, herbs, nuts and spices.

39:21 HIGH VIBRATIONAL WELLNESS AND SOUL SHOPPING

Lainie Sevante Wulkan: Yeah, this is, this book came out in 24, High Vibrational Wellness, and I was talking about in another book, I had a chapter in a book called The Intuitive Healer’s Oracle, and the publisher had saw my chapter on intuitive food therapy, and she says that’s completely unique. And in that book, the lead author was Angela Aurora Medway-Smith. She was looking for people who had unique modalities and she went all over the world. The publisher said, you should have your own book. So she gave me this opportunity and I gathered 25, 24 other authors in addition to myself. And originally this book was called High Vibrational Eating. And I was thinking to myself, well, people see that, they’re gonna think it’s like a souped up recipe book.

And I thought what? The truth of it is just like we have four bodies, emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual. We also don’t just eat food. We don’t eat just food for our bodies. So we eat for, we feed our soul, we feed our mind, we feed our body. So I’m thinking if we’re mind, body, spirit, or mind, body, soul, we have to provide authors in this book that are going to speak to that. So we have people in here speaking on how to nourish intuitive healing therapies to your body temple, not just food. Although we do have chefs in here that talk about culinary therapy and I talk about intuitive food therapy and I actually create something in here that is a way for you to get call it soul shopping.

It’s getting into sort of a very present state before you go into a store. Like you asked about muscle testing earlier and I asked that you get very present because what you may need that moment is not what you may need later. For instance, you may be very inflamed because you just had an argument at work or with a spouse and so salmon may be the perfect choice for you because we want to bring an anti-inflammatory food down or certain foods are asking for that moment. So if you presence yourself before you go shopping, the best idea is that’s when you’ll get the clarity when you walk into a store what you should have for dinner in that moment to be very present with soul.

And then I brought other people in from breathwork to numerologists to yogis to really 24 different people who can talk about their modalities of what they use to nourish the body temple. And it ended up being a very popular book around the world.

Dr. Yi Song: So is this book available on Amazon?

Lainie Sevante Wulkan: This one’s on Amazon. Yep. You can get this on Amazon. We actually now have it in audio form, digital, and paperback all over the world. You can get it on any Amazon as well as at my site.

43:35 HOPE FROM THE HIMALAYAS DOCUMENTARY IN NEPAL

Lainie Sevante Wulkan: Well, yes. So the one I’m working on now is very special. And I have a colleague of mine who’s based out of Kathmandu, Nepal, and he is representative of his family and they have had a wonderful Ayurvedic tea company. And I should really say herbal infusion because tea, if we’re clear about it, tea is used as a tea, but if you actually have the tea leaf in it, but these are herbal infusions, but we call them teas, right? But this is an Ayurvedic tea company that have been formulating for centuries with Ayurvedic doctors. And the practices in those countries are going out to the land and cultivating the herbs and using those medicinally to make formulations for wellness.

And so I love Ayurveda and he had told me that his company has been very popular in Europe and all over Asia and asked if I would bring it to the US. And he knew me as the food oracle in my whole background that I was passionate about healing. And he told me the story, the back story. And so the documentary is really telling the origin stories that this company is cultivating pristine herbs at the base of the Himalayan mountains and villages. And he would like to do more of that work with the farmers. And these are very poor villages who don’t have a lot of economic impact there. And he’d like to create economic impact. So he’d like to support their farms.

Right now what they’re doing is sadly, when there’s not enough money for the family, they’re sending the girls off to the cities, and they’re in danger of being trafficked, and a lot of them end up being trafficked. And it’s a very sad situation, and he’s trying to kind of stop that whole cycle. So I wanted, I said, that’s an incredible humanitarian effort, and I do want to tell the backstory of that as a documentary to not only raise awareness of what someone, one single man and one leaf can make a change, but also how he’s collaborating with women who are being empowered in these cities, in these villages to make change in usually women oppressed area.

And so I thought that was powerful. So the documentary we’re working on is called Hope from the Himalayas and it’s telling the story of how these tees are making a difference. Some of these girls are now in the company and getting their own talk about financial literacy that not only are they being paid, they’re learning to open bank accounts and do things, but it’s telling the back story. And so these teas are every time someone drinks the tea, they’re getting the beautiful wellness from the different formulations. But every time somebody buys these teas they’re also helping change lives in girls and boys there. Yeah, so I’m working on that documentary. I’ll be going to Nepal later this year to continue the filming process.

46:58 NOURISH YOUR SOUL RETREATS AROUND THE WORLD

Dr. Yi Song: So I think you also do retreats or something like that. So do you also organize people to go to Nepal to do retreats?

Lainie Sevante Wulkan: Yeah, this is the first time. Thank you. My whole brand is about nourishing your soul. My show, the brand of the teas, and also our Nourish Your Soul retreats. And we take people all over the world, and it really just started from the fact that I had readers and fans of the Food Healing Oracle deck that all wanted to get together for a week somewhere in the world and read. And I would gather people who are fans of the deck and who I would actually put into practice. I bring chefs into these different regions of the world, and we cook according to the healing Oracle deck and it just started like that and now it’s now morphed into other mind, body, spirit retreats.

I’m now doing a longevity retreat to talk more about science and genetics and DNA and all that good stuff. I have one coming up here. And then now for the first time, we’re going to take a group of people this year to Nepal to meet the people that are involved in the tea making, take them to the factory and kind of show them the whole spiritual world. We have Tibetans involved with our incense makers, incense making, our elements incense, and really give them a sense of what it’s like to experience being part of a movement. So yes, they’re going to be there and we’re going to take them to temples and enjoy ceremonies and stuff. So that’ll be happy.

That’s available to those who feel called to it. That’ll be in October, November of 26. So we’re excited about that and wherever else we’re guided to go, but we generally go on three retreats a year and then in Florida every year I do the longevity retreat. I call it the food oracle’s longevity retreat and we focus a lot on the blue zones. We focus a lot on regions. They don’t have to travel all over the world. We bring it to them and I talk about it’s not just how we feed our body. Why are people living to be centenarians? What else are they doing? And so we spend a weekend a Thursday through a Sunday discussing that and providing experiences and I have a chef who’s certified in the food healing Oracle deck teachings and she provides a meal that’s all very intentional because we’ll create an affirmation around that meal. It’s a very good fun time.

Dr. Yi Song: So your next retreat for this food healing or intuitive soul healing, is it in Florida here?

Lainie Sevante Wulkan: We have one in April in Florida, and then come this June we will be taking a group to Sicily. And we will be staying on a 17th century farmhouse on a private 30 acre land that’s all farm to table. So we’ll be doing cooking classes, we’ll be doing readings and healings and teachings and all that. But we really wanna just show organic farming practices and really kind of put it all together and in a wonderful, beautiful experience.

Dr. Yi Song: So then you say you generally do three retreats per year. So is the third one?

Lainie Sevante Wulkan: The third one will be Nepal. So we got the Florida Longevity Retreat, Sicily. We’re looking in 2027, we’ll be doing the Longevity Retreat. We’re taking a group in June to Taos, New Mexico, and giving them the experience of what it’s like to tap into the Native American energy in the foods and the culture. And then come fall of 2027, we’re looking at a cruise to experience Thailand and Vietnam.

52:13 ANCESTRAL BLOCKAGES AND THETA HEALING

Dr. Yi Song: And then also you have this, there are some psychologists or social workers, they also do a kind of a constellation therapy. It’s like usually it’s done in a group setting. But then something you can also do private type.

Lainie Sevante Wulkan: So I learned so many things out there, right?

Dr. Yi Song: Yeah, so constellation therapy, like you would have a group of people and then sometimes they will find out saying you have this problem because your say your uncle did something then they will try to break that then somebody in the group will play as your uncle.

Lainie Sevante Wulkan: Oh, interesting. With my own sessions as an intuitive and I am an advanced theta healer. I’ve just studied so many things. I’m very adept at going in and looking back into, A, looking under the hood, but also looking back and seeing, because it’s just amazing. I can go back and say what? It’s your great grandmother on your father’s side and you are still carrying that vibrational attachment. It’s just so, I just have a lot of the clairs. I can see some of that.

Dr. Yi Song: So how do you break that?

Lainie Sevante Wulkan: Well, first identifying it and then I work through a process of kind of going, taking them into a theta state and in breaking some of these like soul contracts or fragments or cords or things that are kind of stuck. It’s kind of like, can you go back to your corner? I’ll go back to mine, but at least knowing that it’s not them. Because so often people take things as that. Why is this happening to me when we realize that sometimes we came in and we’ve been carrying the load for some of our generations. It’s very interesting when you kind of dive into some of that work.

59:03 WHERE TO FIND THE COURSES AND RETREATS

Dr. Yi Song: So how do people find out about your retreat, the other retreats you’re hosting, and also how do they find out about your course?

Lainie Sevante Wulkan: Everything can be found at centerforintuitivefoodtherapy.com. And that is a long mouthful, I know that. So I abbreviate it. So it’s C-I-F-T, official.com.

Dr. Yi Song: Okay. Yeah. All right. So we’re so happy to have you here. Thank you. Learning about intuitive nutrition and healing. Thank you so much. And we’re looking forward to seeing your documentaries about the herbal tea.

Lainie Sevante Wulkan: It’s called Hope from the Himalayas, but it’s definitely the back stories. Herbal infusion, exactly.

Dr. Yi Song: And our physical body. And then our time on the earth is limited, but our soul will live on. So we need to really make our soul a meaningful time and also to pass on to the next generation. 100%. Thank you so much for your time. Thank you.
